Abilities in Assassin's Creed Valhalla are special moves that Eivor can perform during combat. They are powerful fighting moves that can be used during a battle at the cost of Adrenaline. Abilities are triggered by pressing and holding the Right Trigger (R1 on Playstation) and then selecting one of the buttons to perform whatever you have mapped to them.

Abilities are not the same as Skills - they each have their own tab and progression that is independent from each other.
Abilities are mainly categorized into Ranged Abilities and Melee Abilities. Up to 8 abilities can be assigned at once.
Abilities are learnt through Books of Knowledge. To find more Books of Knowledge, explore in search of wealth in each territory. Books are often heavily guarded in monasteries or military camps.
Abilities are upgraded by finding duplicates of the same ability.

Ranged Abilities for AC:V focus on special powerful moves for your Bow and animal companion.

Ranged Poison Strike	Applies a poisonous concoction to the tip of your arrows. The poison spreads on enemy impact.	2	Applied poison splashes in an arc in the flight of the arrow, poisoning all enemies caught in the arc.	Hidden Ones Bureau rewards.
Raven Distraction	Use your raven, Synin, to briefly distract your enemies.	2	Synin attacks the target to being the distraction. During combat, Synin Stuns the target.	In the secret passage on Tonnastadir. The upgrade can be found in the southwest of Essexe region, in a bandit camp.
Mark of Death	Hold RT (R2) then scroll your reticle to mark selected enemies. Release to let fly a deadly volley of arrows.	2	Increase maximum number of targets.	In the town of Alrekstad. Upgrade in a guard tower at Meldeburne, Grantebridgescire.
Thorn of Slumber	An arrow marked with the Scenfnthorn symbol puts targets to sleep almost instantly.	2	On impact, arrows expel a cloud of poison, putting anyone nearby to sleep.	Rygjafylke, Near Gryttirsand, at the bottom of the watchtower. Break the floor with an arrow to reach it. Upgrade can be found during Dover Fortress raid.
Piercing Shot	Shoot an arrow with enough force to pierce through nearly any obstacle.	2	Multiply damage for each enemy the arrow passes through.	Can be found at Templebrough Fort. Upgrade can be found in Lincoln, in a house.
Focus of the Nornir	Use the power of the Nornir to aim and shoot your enemies with fateful speed	2	Each killed enemy increases damage dealt.	Underground tomb near Offchurch. Upgrade is inside Bolingbroc Castle.
Man's Best Friend	Sic your wolf on an enemy.	2	Your wolf will stay to fight by your side.	In Crepelgate Fort, Lunden. A Little Problem side quest.
Incendiary Power Trap	Attaches a small pouch to your arrow that spreads a volatile powder wherever the arrow strikes. Any nearby movement causes the powder to burst into flames. Surprise clueless passersby!	2	The powder can be detonated a second time.	In the monastery at Walden. On top of a tower at Briggworth, Suthsexe.
Axe Blizzard	Aim and throw a devastating barrage of axes.	2	Completing the full series of Axe Blizzard by adding abloody finishing combo of extra throws.	East Anglia, on the east of Theotford, in a ruined church, on the second level. Upgrade is in Wincestre garrison.
Ranged Fire Strike	Set tip of your arrow aflame. Anything it hits will catch fire.	2	The fire blazes in an arc in front of you, instantly setting enemies caught in the arc ablaze.	Hidden Ones Bureau rewards.
Poisonous Powder Trap	Attaches a small pouch to your arrow that spreads a volatile powder wherever the arrow strikes. Any nearby movement causes the powder to burst into a poisonous mist. Anyone who walks near is in for an unpleasant surprise!	2	Your trap can now be triggered twice.	Northwest of the Snotinghamscire region, near the Odin Mine Hideout. Jump in the large hole the book is at the end of the cave. Northeast of Temple of Brigantia, Eurviscire region. In the underground of ruins.

Melee Abilities

Melee Abilities for AC:V focus on powerful actions for your close-combat fighting, be it with weapons or grabs and kicks.

Rush & Bash	Hold RT (R2) to bash continuously. While rushing, make contact with any enemy to grab and pick them up. Poison Strike	Applies a poisonous concotcion to your right-hand melee weapon. Poisoned enemies suffer additional damage over time.	2	The concoction splashes in an arc in front of you, instantly poisoning enemies caught in the arc.	Hidden Ones Bureau rewards.
Dive of the Valkyries	Launch yourself into the air and come crashing down onto your enemies	2	Inflict stun damage within a large radius of impact.	In the basement of Isle of Ely Monastery. (Enter from a cave at the bottom of a cliff.) Upgrade is in the Lolingestone Bandit Camp, Cent.
Throwing Axe Fury	Hurl Throwing axes at all enemies in range	2	Any enemy struck will also be staggered	In a cave on the southwest of Nottfall. Upgrade is in Caustow Castle, Sciropescire.
Harpoon Impalement	Impale an enemy with your harpoon and throw them in any direction. Enemies who strike objects or other enemies will suffer massive damage	2	Eivor can finish by pulling the enemy close and killing them with style!	Ledecestrescire Velonis Roman ruin Sewer. Upgrade is in the church of Colcestre, Essexe.
Rage of Helheim	Enter a fit of rage and slam your enemy to the ground, leaving them helpless in the face of a barrage of hits.	2	Land more blows with faster taps.	Rygjafylke, On the east of Kjotve's Fortress, enter the cave through a secret entrance, break the ice wall to reach the chest. Upgrade is in a building in Jorvik.
Blinding Rush	Use stamina to move undetected. Aborts on enemy contact.	2	Successful Assassination doesn't interrupt the ability.	Northeast part of East Anglia, in a Ruined Tower, you need to break the floor and drop down, then destroy the wall using oil jars to reach it. In Chersey Abbey Ruins, Suthsexe.

Kick of Tyr	A ferocious kick that sends enemies flying backwards. Enemies who strike objects or other enemies will suffer additional damage	2	Kicked enemies will remain down and at your mercy. Feign Death	Fool enemies by playing dead.	2	Trigger a surprise assassination from a prone position.	In the Leah Villa Garrison, Oxenefordscire. In a locked room. In Aelfwood, Glowecestrescire, in a cave.
Vengeance of Thor	Hold R2 to concentrate all your strength into an unstoppable attack. The longer you hold, the more powerful the attack will become.	2	You can charge-up twice for the ultimate attack.	In the middle area of Glowecestrescire region. In Oxeneforda, in a building.
